After four days of the event which took place inside the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond that the champion of the tournament was known. The $3125 buy-in event of the Chicago Poker Classic 2012 was won by Anthony Marsico, who is a native of Bloomingdale, Illinois. Playing poker during 4 days is not an easy task, but Marsico said that despite his tiredness, he felt quite well. He also said that he is appreciating his victory.
Because of his great performance Marsico won the first prize of $265,825 and 900 points in Card Player of The Year. This allowed him to rise to the 32nd place in ranking. The same rank belongs to Oleksii Kovalchuk and Eui Woong Kim.
It is to be noted that Marsico held the position of chip leader even after second and third day of the competition and maintained his advantage till the end. In the final heads up, Marsico appeared to be oozing confidence and that helped him to defeat Matthew Rosen. As a runner up, Rosen got $164,279. The third place went to Edward Ochana and he got prize money of $108,268. The 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th place went to Scott Seville, John Jovanovich, Timothy Chang, Shon Alexander, Elliot and Hebden Bretty Schwertley.
